JULIAN GIARDINELLI - Founder and Freelance Post Professional

Julian has worked in the media industry since the 1990’s. (Remember linear tape editing and CD-ROMs?) His interest in media actually began in high school, where he convinced his teachers to accept videos in lieu of final exams! After earning a film degree at University of California Santa Cruz, Julian worked in a variety of positions, from Gaffer to Motion Control Camera Operator to Post Supervisor. This helped him develop the skill to see "the big picture" and relate to everyone involved in a project.

His work covers a wide range — from television to corporate to independent film.  He has a lot of experience finishing materials for broadcast and avoiding rejections from networks. On the corporate and event side, he’s done many pieces for technology, biotech, and entertainment companies - such as video news releases, game trailers and multi-screen video installations. Lately, much of his work has been for the web and he’s familiar with the challenges internet delivery can pose.

Julian's work has been shown on the biggest and the smallest screens, from theaters to smartphones. He says what he likes best about his career is how it merges both his creative and technical sides. Calm under pressure, and able to work without a big ego, Julian is adept at producing creative solutions out of chaos. In addition, his strong technical, engineering, and IT experience complements any job he works on.

On his time off, Julian likes to escape the dark cave of the edit suite to go camping, snowboarding, mountain biking, and practice martial arts. Always interested in different cultures, Julian travels to a new foreign country every year. He speaks fluent French along with some Spanish and Japanese as well.

Julian is available for Editing (Premiere/Avid/Final Cut) and Post Supervision. He also does Edit System Consulting (spec/install/upgrade) when not in the edit suite.
